when is the best time to buy a planting plan?
Any time of the year. Different plants can be planted at different times of year, so there will always be something you can get started with. Time for creating your plan, preparing your garden, sourcing plants and materials and (finally) planting should be taken into account. Once you have received your plan, you have the flexibility to start when it suits you.
when is the best time to plant my garden?
It depends on what you are planting. Usually autumn or spring. Though certain plants can be planted in the winter if the ground is not frozen or summer if it is not too hot and dry. You will receive clear advice with your plan so you will know what to plant when.
how long does it take to receive my plan?
This depends on the size of your garden, the detail involved and how many others I have booked in. I will discuss timelines with you in our initial call. Assuming I can start right away, generally for a small simple plan allow approx 2 - 4 weeks and for a large garden 4 weeks+. Downloadable plans are ready to download, so if you need something now you may want to consider these.
can I pay in instalments?
Absolutely. Just let me know if this is something you are interested in.
are plants included in the cost?
Plants are not included in the estimate for your bespoke plan, but if you are in the UK (mainland), they can be included as an add on. If requested an estimate will be provided once we have created the plan for your garden. Plant costs will vary according to what we are planting (trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs etc, but expect to pay approx £25-£30/ meter)
why order plants from you?
Ordering plants from me is easy. I already have your plan so won’t need any details from you. The plants will be delivered to your door via pallet, saving you time trawling garden centres/ online shops to find the right plants.
I order direct from growers and wholesalers, so they will almost always be cheaper than what you can source yourself.
The plants I source are healthy and a good size, ensuring a higher chance of survival and an established garden faster than if you buy smaller plants. They will generally be in 2L pots (unless not available in which case a smaller plant will be sent). It is important to note the size if you are shopping online as it is easy to be sucked into the price and not realise you are buying very young, small plants.
If I can’t source the exact variety, I will send a close substitute.
will you plant and/ or landscape my garden for me?
All packs contain enough information for you to learn and plant your garden yourself. If you would like some help with landscaping and planting, I offer this as a service in Hampshire and Surrey but I am slowly expanding so if you are elsewhere, let me know, and I will let you know if I can help. See my services page for more info.
what is included in the bespoke plan?
A call to discuss your garden, likes, dislikes, preferences and/ or issues that need addressing
Detailed hand-drawn planting plan customised to your space
Full plant list with specific varieties chosen for your conditions
Moodboard showing how your garden will look
Planting schedule - know exactly when to plant what
Step-by-step planting instructions
Seasonal maintenance calendar - clear instructions so you know exactly what you need to do and when, to care for your plants and garden
Email support to answer your questions as you bring your plan to life
what is the difference between the bespoke plan and downloadable plans?
Similar to bespoke plans, the downloadable packs include hand drawn planting plans, plant lists, moodboards, planting schedules and instructions on how to plant your garden.
A maintenance calendar as an optional add on.
The plants included in these plans have been selected as they are suitable to grow in soils of all pH levels (acidic/ neutral/ alkaline) so you do not need to test your soil and can still be confident you are buying plants that will be happy in your soil.
There are 4 plans suitable for sunny/ partially sunny planting spots and one where the plants will thrive in dry shade, so you need to select a plan applicable to the light in your garden/ the area you are planting.
